FLIPPING OUT!!!

Sewcute had started a topic entitled "Odd" about receiving a large number of emails from this forum advising of new comments posted and such. I replied stating I had received an even larger number today. Madd was advised of this by me through an IM this morning delivered to his phone. When he arrived at work, he asked for more information, so I told him blah blah blah
He did post a message in the support topic what this was about and another blah blah blah.
He ALSO replied to Sewcute's original post (again entitled "Odd") saying this had been addressed and where to find where it had been addressed.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....I wanted to reply back to him again with a comment (comment being "Yes but we had posted this information BEFORE you told us what was going on") but HE FLIPPING LOCKED IT SO I can't do this!!!!!!!
I am not sure why but I freaked out on him. I think I was yelling loud enough for the whole 4th floor to hear me.
Getting that all out...I feel a little better now. Although I STRONGLY disagree with his decision to LOCK this topic. He took the opportunity away for us to go off on another tangent as we do on MOST original posts.

You know the reason I locked it? Consideration for other users of the board. When people post and post and post, that is fine and all, however, when they are just a bunch of random chat, that causes issues for the other users who want to read posts in the board, and have to go through tons of posts and the like that are pretty much "an IM on board form". I have no problem with the post sewcute made (and besides locking it, I should have moved it to the support forum, something I will do after this post). While you talk about freedom of speech, keep in mind, that in any place on earth, the USA included, you some times have to pay account to what you say. I simply want order. A lot of things go well off topic. You will notice that I end up having to take those posts, where people appear to REALLY get into it, some people go off tangent. Hey, even I have been guilty of this my own self, so no, I do not think I am God, I think I am someone attempting to moderate these forums since at this time, I actually have more than one person talking to me. When it was just Sewcute and myself, I did not really care, because no one else bothered to give me the time of day. Now, I have at least four.

So, again to stress the logic behind my reasons, I do what I do not to be controlling or "play God", I do it in respect to other people on this board. This is also the reason that I am going to have some of the mods that I am. For I personally do not mind mindless drival, however, I know some do, and not everyone gets on the board every 10 minutes or so, thus when they get online 3 or so days down the road, they are shown all these new posts, and might be to the point of not wanting to bother with any of it, because a bunch of topics went from something to 2-4 answer replies, similar to IM.

Just follow up:
When I mentioned "Playing God" to Madd...it was about a comment that he made to me in person. Not about his locking that particular post. He mis-understood.
And this has been addressed.

Mair I am not sure I understand your original post about yelling at madd and flipping out.

I was kind of disappointed, because I hadn't received emails from this site in a while, but then I received a bunch, I was more excited about it than anything else!

Oh don't worry about it. I was just being me and Madd was just being Madd and sometimes those 2 don't mix well.

Her issue was she wanted to reply to your topid, and I locked it since I stated to go to the support for any follow up on any further trouble. She just wants a reason to be angry with me... being angry with me makes her happy



I am VERY HAPPY that the notification problem appears to be addressed and working again. I hope your private ones are also working!!
